The MMA Study is not currently accepting new participants. Thank you!

Men and women, ages 18 to 30, are needed for a paid research study conducted by researchers at Morehead State University

The MMA Study is looking for men and women to participate in an online study on young adults' relationships and health. The MMA Study is funded through the Kentucky Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network. The research is being conducted by Assistant Professor, Dr. Elizabeth Neilson at Morehead State University.

All portions of the study will be completed online. You do not need to come to the laboratory or campus to participate. The study involves completing an initial survey, where you will answer questions about your health, relationship history, substance use history, and emotions. Following completion of the initial survey, you will be asked to complete three short surveys per day for the next 10 consecutive days. You will receive these surveys through a free, confidential app, Ilumivu, that we will ask you to download onto your phone. Participation does not require use of data or text messages. Each short survey will take approximately 5 to 7 minutes to complete. Participants may earn up to $90 in gift cards for their participation.

If you want to be part of the MMA Study, you will need to take our brief online screening questionnaire. This screening questionnaire should only take about 5 to 10 minutes. We will ask you a few questions about your drinking and substance use habits, your health, and your relationship history. You will not provide any identifying information during the screening questionnaire. At the end of the screening questionnaire, the website will let you know if you are conditionally eligible.

If you are conditionally eligible, you will be asked to click on a link to a separate page where you will enter your name, contact information, and some additional information in order for one of our research assistants to contact you by phone. During this phone call, we will ask you some additional questions, give you more detailed information about the study, and, if you are still interested, we will go over the Informed Consent, including your rights as a research participant, and give you instructions on how to complete the surveys. This orientation phone call will take approximately 15 minutes.

Participation in this study is completely voluntary, and there is no penalty for choosing not to participate. Morehead State Students are eligible to participate if they meet all eligibility criteria.
